Quite simply, La Volute is the pinnacle of pure, rustic pipe tobacco. Being a completely natural tobacco with no flavorings, subtle differences in the aging, blending, and cut can make for a unique smoking experience. La Volute is pure Semois leaf, like its cousin La Brumeuse, but cut to the consistency of a crumbled flake rather than ribbon-cut. The thicker cut serves to enhance and deepen the characteristic earthy, and floral notes, while also offering a different packing experience and longer smoke times. The Semois leaf’s “heavier" side also gets to shine through a bit more thanks to the thicker cut, with notes of toasted cedar and peaty scotch popping in and out.
