Peterson Irish Oak 50g Tin Pipe Tobacco. Originally blended from a rich, dark heavy bodied Cavendish, this tobacco is made smooth by adding a mixture of Zimbabwean Orange smoking grades and aromatic Thailand Burley. It is mellowed using black Perique blend tobacco from Louisiana Bayou. As tradition dictates, the leaf is stored for many years in Sherry Oak barrels, giving the tobacco it's name and an exquisite mature oaken aroma.

This is a very nice smoke for all day or just after dinner. A mild aroma and smooth flavor. Peterson hit a home run with this tobacco.

will I buy this blend again? Probably not. Not that it was particularly bad; more like it was not particularly good. No real depth ..... one dimensional; woody, but less than intriguingly so. Burns well, but is a bit rough around the edges. Have to be precisely in the mood for it......which won't be too often. A bit less Perique and a bit more Cavendish would likely mellow it out some. Rough retrohale. To me, not in the same league as Elizabethan or Escudo..... but a nice try

5 My Favorite

This is my favorite tobacco. The tins keep the tobacco fresh until opened. The amount in each tin is enough for several days but not too much to dry out. Irish tobacco is an acquired taste and I have always liked it.
