Rich, deep, contemplative... Ripe red virginias, fine orientals, smokey Cyprus Latakia, and a pinch of Acadian perique are pressed and matured in cakes before being sliced. The sophisticated flavors and exotic aroma provide a wonderful backdrop for quiet moments of reflection, a good book, and if you are so inclined, perhaps a wee dram.

To me this is very similar to nightcap but with better bolder flavors , broken flake moist out of the tin gives you options to prepare , i could smoke this anytime of day and have , will be keeping this on hand

5 Good smoke
Posted by Matt J. on Apr 7th 2021
This is an enjoyable smoke that seems to take on a different flavor and smoking experience depending on how you utilize it. In my opinion, it smokes better having been rubbed out, loaded in the bowl, and slowly lit to a glowing ember. And then slowly smoked with emphasis on the retro hale. I'm big on the retro hale and believe it is the best way to enjoy the flavors of a good tobacco. Of course you could just stuff the tobacco in the bowl as it is and torch it, but I found that it burns poorly this way and the flavors don't truly come out. Take the time...rub out the tobacco...load the pipe...light it slowly. There is a reason for the "ritual of the pipe". It makes the entire experience more enjoyable.

4 Rewarding smoke

Moist flake that bears rubbing out in my opinion, though many do indeed fold and stuff. Great variety in flavors that may keep you guessing from puff.

5 Magic

Im not sure what I could possibly say about this blend that hasnt already been said, some say the best work of GL Pease and I would have to agree. Unlike all the reviewers that compare this to penzance, i disagree as to me this is bolder and more flavorful in every way. This and plum pudding share top spot for my all time favourite tobacco. A beautiful bulkan with a nice cut, burns slow, cool and always tasty.

4 Good strength

Pretty strong English. Lotsa of Latikia to enjoy; if you're into that. Not a lat bomb though but very much a Latikia forward blend. Heaps of flavour.
