These aren't the same kreteks you remember from back in the day, they're cigarettes disguised as cigarillos.
The flavor is weak, more tobacco then anything else, really very little clove flavor that just seems to be sprayed on as a flavorant rather then actually containing pieces of clove in it, sure the crackle is still there, but the numbing effect isn't.
I've resorted to grabbing a single clove, removing the bulb, and sticking it at the end of all of my cigs to at least get that nice eugenol taste and feeling from smoking real cloves like these used to have.
I don't recommend these, you're really better off investing in a RYO (Roll Your Own) set up and making your own blend from bulk tobacco, cloves, possibly clove oil, but then you're risking adding more danger to your smoke, but hey, we're not smoking to live forever right?
