The world-famous whiskey distillery Ian MacLeod is known for its leading brand Chieftain's whiskey. For many years the manager wondered how to combine the known forms of bodily pleasures, and so they decided to devote to the high culture of the tobacco pipe smoking. Chieftain's asked the company Kohlhaase & Kopp for the creation of a tobacco line, in reminiscence of whisky-tradition, and its sister company Otto + Kopp for the production of an appropriate range of pipes. From the original small series is now emerging an ambitious idea. In cooperation with well known German pipe makers, Roger Wallenstein, Tom Richard, Reiner Thilo and Rainer Barbi, quality pipes are manufactured in small batches and distributed through exclusive dealers.
