Davidoff, the Swiss luxury tobacco company, was thrust into fame and fortune by Zino Davidoff. Fleeing the political turmoil of the Russian Empire in the early 1900s, the Davidoff family emigrated to Geneva, Switzerland. His parents were tobacco merchants while in Russia and after relocating they opened up a tobacconist shop in Geneva. After finishing school in 1924 Zino traveled to Latin America and the Caribbean to learn the art of tobacco production. This is where he developed his love of fine cigars. In 1930, Zino returned to Switzerland armed with his new found knowledge and affinity for fine tobacco. It was at this time that he took over his parents business. Coupled with the chaos of World War II and the neutrality of Switzerland, fine tobacco lovers fled to Zino's shop and he was able to grow into one of the most well-know and high-quality Tobacconists in the world. It was during this period that Zino had also designed and created the cigar humidor. 1970 saw Zino selling Davidoff but remaining as the brand ambassador until his death in 1994. Zino had introduced to the world not only the first humidor but some of the world's most well-known cigars. Smokes such as the Mille Series and the Grand Cru series have been long-time favorites for all types of cigar smokers who want a luxurious experience. Even today, Davidoff has repeatedly showcased their ability to produce consistent, exciting cigars of the highest quality; such as their Puro D'Oro and Nicaragua lines. When you want to fill your time beautifully, enjoy a Davidoff.
